QUE DJ Brings Gqom and South African Energy to Busan
South African Gqom DJ and producer QUE DJ is heading to Busan on September 26, bringing the raw, bass-heavy sound of Durban to Korea during Chuseok.

On September 26, South African DJ and producer QUE DJ will bring his signature Gqom sound to Busan, offering Korean audiences a chance to experience one of the most distinctive sounds to emerge from South Africa’s electronic music scene.
Born and raised in KwaMashu, Durban, QUE DJ has played an important role in the development and international spread of Gqom. He is also known for being one half of the acclaimed duo Distruction Boyz, whose work helped bring Durban’s raw and energetic sound to audiences far beyond South Africa.
For anyone discovering Gqom for the first time, the genre is deeply connected to Durban’s townships and is known for its heavy bass, dark electronic rhythms and hypnotic, percussive sound. It has developed into an influential part of South Africa’s contemporary music landscape while continuing to evolve through artists like QUE DJ.
Now, that sound is making its way to Korea.
With Chuseok bringing a holiday atmosphere across the country, September 26 will be an opportunity to experience something a little different in Busan — a night centered around Gqom, heavy bass and South African energy.
Durban to Busan — the Gqom sound is crossing borders.
