Anya Fo! Season 2: Interactive West African Performance in Korea

Unlike a traditional concert or stage performance, Anya Fo! Season 2 transforms every audience member into an active participant. As soon as you take your seat, you’ll find a djembe waiting just for you. Throughout the performance, you’ll be invited to play along with the artists, creating an unforgettable atmosphere where performers and audience share the same rhythm.

The group behind the performance, Anya Fo, is a South Korea-based African percussion ensemble dedicated to sharing the rich musical traditions of West Africa. Their name comes from Malinké, a language spoken in Guinea, Mali, and Senegal, and means “to play together.” That simple idea perfectly captures the spirit of the show: bringing people together through music, rhythm, and participation.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Manding percussion while incorporating Korean influences, Anya Fo has created a unique artistic identity that connects cultures through the universal language of music. Their performances are energetic, welcoming, and accessible to everyone, regardless of age, language, or musical experience.

With more than 100,000 audience members and several national recognitions, “Anya Fo! Season 2” has already captivated audiences across Korea—and this August, it’s hitting the road once again!
