A taste of Tunisia in Seoul

There are restaurants you visit, and restaurants that take you somewhere. Couscous Tunisian Home Kitchen falls firmly in the second category. Chef Lee Jihye lived in Sousse, Tunisia, fell in love with the country and its people, came back to Seoul and opened this restaurant as a tribute to Tunisian gastronomy. The result is one of the most unexpected dining experiences in the city: a warmly decorated space where traditional Tunisian music plays and the food tastes exactly like it would back home, steps away from Gyeongbokgung Palace. The location near Hanok village only adds to the charm. Only 20 seats. No fuss. Just honest cooking.
What's on the menu?

The menu is built around traditional home-cooked Tunisian dishes, with both halal and non-halal meat available. Set menus guide you through the essentials, making it easy to eat well even if Tunisian food is new to you.
The Couscous Set is where to start: semolina served with your choice of lamb or chicken, chickpeas, peppers and egg, best eaten with a generous spoonful of harissa on the side. The Brik is a non-negotiable, a crispy traditional Tunisian pastry that disappears fast. The Slata Mechouia brings smokiness and depth to the table as a starter, and the house-made Hummus rounds it all out. Vegetarian options are available too, and the veggie couscous is genuinely worth ordering.
Budget: 16,000 – 35,000 KRW per person
